Coronation Day

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.” Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

“Context” by Flame

Context – Flame – lyrics
uh-uh-uh-uh-uh yo what’s up with you man
O what’s up wit you bruh
Yeah I noticed you readin’ your Bible and everything. That’s raw
Ah amen, bruh
But I just wanna know have you ever heard of hermeneutics?
Yea hermeneutics.
Naw what’s that, mayne?
Well that’s just simply “the art and science of biblical interpretation”
O, ok, ok
And it’s very beneficial if you learn how to do it you know what I’m sayin’

The first task of the interpreter, that’s you
Is called exegesis
Extra Jesus?
Naw i said exegesis, man
It’s a Latin word don’t be scurred
Matter fact I laughed when I first heard it too
It’s spelled e-x-e-g-e-s-i-s
Guaranteed you learn this process and you’ll be blessed
Exegesis is the careful systematic
Study of Scripture

For the Christian this should be a habit
But to discover the original intended meaning of the author to its audience is exegeting
But to do this man you need some tools
So let me recommend a couple of things you should use a’ight! Cool.
First man you need this book it’s called a commentary and it helps you to further look into some Essential things that you need to check in order for you to properly interpret the text

With this skill this should keep you from heresy
And keep you from goin’ through theological therapy
The words of God will change your life if you keep that text in its context

You need some more books,
I know it’s getting scary
But you need some definitions get a Bible dictionary
To go without these tools you can’t afford it
That’s why you need this book called a concordance
And every time you start to think this is too much to do
I recommend you reflect on 2nd Timothy 2 and 15 and you will see what I mean
Simply because the serpent is lurking to glean those who don’t read
And those who don’t study to keep on lock on its treasure from unlockin’ the pleasure
Cause’ God’s words are lovely
That’s why we handle it as precious as pearls to let our exegetical work reflect to the world in accuracy Hopin’ that you’re happy to see the very words God breathed handled accurately
So many now take text out of context
And come up with mess and more nonsense

With this skill this should keep you from heresy
And keep you from goin’ through theological therapy
The words of God will change your life if you keep that text in its context

What you don’t wanna do is called eisegesis
Icy Jesus?
Naw I said eisegesis, man.
You a silly dude, its Latin, too
And that’s just the act of when you adding to
Or the process of readin’ one’s own meaning into the text and that’s just eisegeting
Don’t fret I know these words are new and phrases too but it’s cool if you go back to school
Its spelled e-i-s-e-g-e-s-i-s
Guaranteed you learn this process and God will be vexed (you don’t wanna do that)
A text can never mean what it never meant before to its original readers or authors so
If you run into a difficult passage and you know the Bible never contradicts itself then
Turn the pages to a parallel passage and just let the Scriptures interpret itself

With this skill this should keep you from heresy
And keep you from goin’ through theological therapy
The words of God will change your life if you keep that text in its context

Groundwork – There is a God

Time to lay some groundwork for the future of this site…

There is a God.

The Bible makes no point to try to prove the existence of God. It simply begins, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

That there is a God is axiomatic. It is a self-evident truth. Why? Because a creation demands a Creator. The creation itself is proof that there is a Creator, just as a painting is proof there was a painter, and a building is proof there was a builder.

It’s About Time…

So I’ve finally created a blog.

Who is this guy?

My name is Inigo Montoya…wait, that’s not right. I am Roger Hart. I am currently 33 years old. Husband of my wife Jill, and father of 3 daughters. I’m a sinner saved by God’s grace.

Who cares?

Well, you might care if you know me. On the other hand, you might not care if you knew what I’ll be writing about. That’s the answer to the next question.

What is ServantHart?

The name came about while we were (again) changing our home internet service. I was trying to find anything biblically based that might go with our last name. I wrote down some half a dozen suggestions, and my wife liked ServantHart the best. So here we are.

The Blog is a place to put family news, commentary on current events, and my notes and commentary on the most important book of all time, the Bible.

A sinner saved by grace.
